What is a Maven?
A Maven is how MavenHaven refers to the experts that provide content and services for organizations and communities. For instance, speakers, leaders, editors, artists, designers and lecturers are all different types of Mavens. Mavens use MavenHaven as a venue to share their greatness with the world and build up a network. We want as many people with talent as possible on MavenHaven in order to provide organizations with the opportunity to find exactly what they need.
What is a Haven?
A Haven is how MavenHaven refers to an organization that seeks programming content and services. By way of example, a Haven might be an organization looking for an expert speaker, a business looking for a team building expert, a synagogue looking for a mural artist, a club looking for a keynote lecturer, or a youth group looking for a motivational speaker. Havens use MavenHaven to find Mavens, build connections with other organizations, and share their organization with the world.
Can I be both a Maven and a Haven?
Certainly. At any point you can upgrade to a Maven or add your organization to MavenHaven. Just take a look at your profile page. Also, if you look on the left side of your dashboard, you'll see a shortcut to starting a Haven.
Is MavenHaven a Speakers Bureau or an Agency?
For the most part MavenHaven helps connect Mavens and Havens and then lets them do the rest. We like to think of ourselves as matchmakers. We do have some cool premium features and opportunities planned for near term rollout that may develop this idea a bit, but Mavens on MavenHaven will belong to bureaus and work with agents. In fact, some Mavens may put their agent's contact info in their MavenHaven profile so their agent can handle requests.
