About Dan Hazony

I am currently a senior at Boston University majoring in Computer Science. I recently created the tracking and statistical database of NCSY, the youth program of the Orthodox Union. I am the co-founder of New England JSU, now acting as its Associate Director. On the side, I serve as an Internet programmer with many community-based clients, as well as other computer consulting services. I have had a lot of experience with Jewish outreach to public school teens, trying to strengthen their Jewish identities and values.

I draw parallels between "Yerushalayim Shel Zahav" and Jimi Hendrix's rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner. I use this as a method to elaborate on the historical relevance of the Israeli lyrical tradition.
